Re-create a Classic 80s Slumber Party!

Ladies of the 80s, take note! It’s time to re-create a classic 80s slumber party. Gather your girlfriends and your hair scrunchies! Double up your bi-colored socks! Pop your collar! Then, consider this your guide:

Step 1: Swooning Movie.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (1985) starring Helen Hunt (as Lynne), Sarah Jessica Parker (as Janey), and Lee Montgomery (as Jeff, who is almost as delicious as our pizza).

Teenage daughter of stern military man disciplinarian, Janey meets wild-child, Lynne, who helps her enter a dance contest. She meets and partners up with mysterious bad boy, Jeff. And it nearly falls apart thanks to the sniveling sabotage of a spoiled snob named Natalie.

Step 2. Pizza.

Hey, we’ve got this covered! Carryout or delivery, we have the perfect menu to fuel your blast from the past. Start it off right with Onion Rings and Jalapeno Poppers. Then, chow down on a few 80s classics:

  • The Tubular (Ham! Bacon! Pineapple! Cheese, cheese, and cheese!)
  • The BLT (Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo? On a pizza? Yes, please!)
  • The Radical (Pepperoni, Bacon, Ham, Sausage, Beef!)
  • Hot Spicy Buffalo Chicken (This is ONE HOT PIZZA!)

Whatever you do, don’t forget the Cinnamon Bread drizzled with every rad color from your 80s scrunchie collection.

Step 3. Shenanigans.

If you already got rid of your Atari and Oujia board, do not despair! The party isn’t over.

Remember MASH? Remember the paper-pencil fortune-telling game that convinced you Ralph Macchio was your soul mate? Remember that you were going to live in a shack in London while you enjoyed an illustrious career as a marine biologist? It’s not too late!

When you’re done with MASH, it’s time for a lip-syncing contest. The only prop required: A hairbrush. We have some suggestions here, too. Consider these Ladies of the 80s classics:

  • Gloria (Laura Branigan)
  • Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (Cyndi Lauper)
  • Manic Monday (The Bangles)
  • 9 to 5 (Dolly Parton)
  • Crazy for You (Madonna)
  • Barracuda (Heart)
  • Electric Youth (Debbie Gibson)
  • I’m So Excited (Pointer Sisters)

Every contest needs a winner, and we have the perfect prize: A Slice of the 80s t-shirt! Place your merchandise order when you call in for pizza, and we’ll deliver it right along with the rest.

Have fun, but take heed: do not be the first one to fall asleep (bowl of warm water…hand…need we say more?)!
